One buyer gave me 2 stars because it took 12 days for her package to arrive. I have all 5 star ratings except for one. Because of course if you see you’re getting a low rating before rating them, chances are you’ll give them a lower rating too.
Unfortunately it sucks to get a low ratingīut at the same time Mercari has to do it the way they do it because if a seller got to see a buyers rating before rating them back, no buyer would feel like they could give an honest bad rating. Either of these systems would help fix that issue too Which has to get annoying since they will not ever change a rating. I’m sure mercari get tons of buyers and sellers who contact customer support to complain about ratings they receive. So yeah, as a whole, there’s a lot of positives to Mercaris rating system… but Either one of these options though would help fix the few flaws it has and help make it more fair. Basically it gives the business a chance to defend itself or show their side to the situation Some are responses that thank the reviewer for their business but other responses will dispute the review or respond with some facts the initially reviewer conveniently left out. A lot of the reviews will have responses from that business that you can see also. Like when you google a business and can see reviews left by people…. That way good sellers can get rid of the bad reviews that were left just because the buyer wanted to be a jerk.Ģ.) allow sellers to post a response to ratings and show the responses.
They don’t always get approved for the refund but it still sucks getting a request almost a month after delivery) So yeah, for the most part I think Mercaris rating system is a good thing.īUT to make it a really GREAT system they should do one of the followingġ.) Allow sellers to dispute a certain number of ratings per year. (Unlike eBay for example, which allows refund requests for up to 30 days after delivery.
I also like that it prevents people from opening a complaint or refund request unless they do it immediately basically. But the best part is it allows the seller to receive the money from the sale as soon as you get a rating, which most of the time is within 24 hrs of delivery in my experience. It lets potential buyers know a seller is trustworthy & not a scammer. I also want to add… Overall, I personally like Mercaris rating system.
